Getting slowed down...

As the Govt and the Dept of Educadion had no other way out, due to the intervention of the Honourable High Court, the managers of the schools were directed to provide basic aminities like drinking water, latrine and toilet facilities.

Giving the seriousness it deserved, convened a meeting of the Heads of all the schools under the R. C. Schools management, besides the concerned Parish Priests, their Parish Council Secretaries and Education Convenors and discussed the matter with them.

After much deliberations, it was suggested that the expenses be met in a three tire system, involving the Diocese, Parish and the teachers, rather the staff as such. To this they further suggested that the staff give their basic pay for a month in an year. This could be collected in an instalment every month of the year.

To take this to the entire staff, visited all the schools by thie first month of the academic year and told them thay may have to give not even half of their basic pay for providing the said facilities and other maintainence as and when it needs to be done. After visiting all the schools and meeting them together in every school, sent a letter asking the heads to get 3% of the basic pay every month.

Once again the same group of local managers, heads of the schools etc were invited and told about the 3% understanding. They all agreed. But in the afternoon when the staff secretaries' meeting was convened some of them took offence at the way letters were issued to the heads of the schools. They even raised an issue that they were not consulted, when in fact i met all of them together in their respective schools!

This being the situation, i left it at that level and waiting to as to what is happening!

And another thing is that even the archbishop didn't reply to my 'Highly urgent' letter requesting him to grant the 1/3 of the suggested three tire system. So, i have no other go than to keep quite and let things take their own course! This is the story of 'slowing down...'
